creating a service to run in linux Can't Post

hai
i have a perl script which will automatically check for the existing files and then ftp them to a server, this one runs in a loop until i kill it, now what i wants is i want to make this as a service so that it can keep on running until i kill the service. so does any one have an idea how to do this??

How fast do you expect an answer?

I replied in less than 2 hours and Shlomi posted in 30 minutes. Was 30 minutes really too long of a wait?

Problem resolved?
If not perhaps you can start it via cron on Linux or at on Windows every 10 Seconds. If script runs it writes a lockfile and on start script checks if file exists. If not exits script run, if exists stop.
Very easy to implement.
