$ENV{'HTTP_REFERER'}="" when opened in window?! Can't Post

I believe some bannercompanies check back to see if the call really came from your site. The problem is when people click on my banner, if have a javascript function called first. Then I open my banner-clickthru-address in a window. I believe, that then thier $ENV{'HTTP_REFERER'} in their CGI is empty, so they can't see the call came from my site, and I don't make the money. Can I do something about this? Note that it's absolutely necessesarry for me to call this javascript function first. Please help me out here!!
