what kind of threading do you searching for?
create childs with fork() or call foreign programs with system() or execute other than Perl code or what?
Or this: http://perldoc.perl.org/threads.html ?

MY task is as follow:
1.just create 20 threads from main thread ,
2.do some db relatied operation (separate connection for each thread )
3. wait for all threads to join main thread after completion

4. exit

will this can be done in both version ?

Hi amit,

You will need a multi-threading version of perl (hint: type 'perl -v' and look for 'thread-multi' in the output). After that, follow Bianca's advice (i.e., rtfm). We'd be happy to look at your attempt to solve this problem.

Cheers,

Larry
