dmake.exe - Accept whitespace in file path Can't Post

Hi all,

I'm using Perl on a Windows 2008 machine. Due to this machine is running PLESK, I needed to install Perl in the "Program Files (x86)" folder.

Unfortunately, every time I try to install a new module in Perl, dmake.exe gives me an error saying that "C:\Program not found, and can't be made".

So my question is how can I force dmake.exe to accept whitespaces in the file path and/or what other possibilities do I have (except for re-installing Perl into a different directory)?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance!

Eric

Re: [customhost] dmake.exe - Accept whitespace in file path [In reply to] Can't Post

I have found the same problem with perl system and exec commands. The most reliable solution to that problem is to use Window's short alias for the offending folder name (Usually progra~1). I do not know if this is an option for you.
Good Luck,
Bill
