Read specific file format Can't Post

Hi all,
Can someone please give a little help?

I need to read a file which contains the format:

4,15,7,2011/01/29 14:00,0.04,0.049,0.07,0.421
4,15,7,2011/01/29 14:00,0.04,0.049,0.07,0.421
4,15,7,2011/01/29 14:00,0.04,0.049,0.07,0.421

I need to get the 2nd column, for example and sum all into a variable.

for example: variable sum_column_2 = 45

Thank you in advanced!

Where exactly are you stuck?

I suggest that you post that part of your program which you already have, and write in pseudocode that part which you can't express in Perl.

Don't forget to

use strict; use warnings;

if you want to get help with your code....
