2D array help please Can't Post

Hi Gurus,

Attached is my code should you wish to view it. it compares two strings and where a match is found, a dot is printed. what I need help with is how to work diagonally within the matrix. as the sequences are matched a succession of matches will give a diagonal string of dots. what i want to achieve is, if there are more than a certain amount of dots (say greater than 5) then the dots remain but single dots or up to a diagonal of four are not printed.
any help would be very much appreciated

Sorry about the deleted post. My algorithm was incorrect Pirate
Good Luck,
