Depends on the application... some are just perl scripts with regular CGI methods, such as the refresh-period type. Some are continuous and require a bit more integration. If volume is low on the chat room, you may want to get a bbs script instead, they are easier to maintain. As for chat perls, Most work on any ISP that gives you CGI-BIN, but like I said... Depends on the app.
