generate/modify remote webpages' aspect Can't Post

hello

i'm looking for a script which can
1. retrieve web data from urls (entered via a form)and modify their aspect (pics, bgcolor, text) with parameters i will have set.

for instance i type a website url and what loads is a modified version of the page.

2. modify text via a form (some king of text generator)

i saw such scripts working on websites and would like to have examples and advices so that i can make a script of my own which works fine
I searched directories but found nothing so it would be nice if anyone could help.

Thanks in advance

best

Dynamicink.com made something like that for me. They are average priced, but they went all out for me and made sure I was happy.

http://www.postcognitive.com/tools/reform is a perl script that loads a page, replaces images with colored blocks, and converts text to Latin. I use it to get a visualization of page structure. You might be able to use the script as a basis for other page transformations, though it doesn't cope with JavaScript or frames.

http://www.postcognitive.com/tools/reformdemo.html to try the script out.

Dave

hello
i had not checked the forum for quite a while for dispair so i was very pleased today to read your answer for "reform" which is very close to what i want to do (i.e modifying web pages).

yet i would need a few more explanations to try it out on my server properly
that is :
permissions and folders

cgi-bin directory ok
reform.cgi : permission ?
i set the script to 755

pics of my own : i wrote down the path in the script

until then i was quite happy but in the end i got :
"CGIWrap Error: Script Execution Failed

CGIWrap encountered an error while attempting to execute this script:

Error Message: Exec format error
Error Number: 8 "

i used the same path to perl as on my other scripts so i do not think the problem is there. But where ?

can you help ?

Again thanks a lot

best regards
