alright, I am looking for a script that will allow me to update a text portion of the main page of my site, http://www.thenexthour.com, from a form. check this: I use matt's wwwboard and know that you can have a link be posted on a 'certain' part of the main board page when the script analyzes the html and finds a key line to initiate it. okay that is confusing. maybe this is better: when you add a new page to the messageboard, a link from the main page to the newly created page is automatically added. got it? with every newly created page, a new link appears. what I want to do is be able to have a script that will let me, or another staff member, add a snippet of text to the main page when the site is updated. just like the wwwboard. always adding updates and links so that viewers know what is going on. I tried to take add2file, located in the pearl archive, and tweak it so that I can put "<!--- Begin --->" (the thing that triggers matt's script to put text in a specific place of the html document, rather than the bottom/top only). now I made everything flow and matched variables and basically merged the two scripts but I just can't do it. If anyone knows of a script out there that does this I will praise you a thousand times over. thank you SOOO much for your time. -Justin P.S. I know I can view the whole file and edit that remotely, I am just looking for something that adds a paragraph and automatically posts it quickly. thank you again.
