Do you recognize this? " /cgi-bin/axs/" Can't Post

Does anyone recognizes this?

I am desperately looking for a perl script with such files. I am not quite sure but I beleive it can be use for news posting. I did a search on these files but have not been successful. Any information will help!

Thanks in advance

The program is called AXS and is by Fluid-Dynamics. It's a nice little stat program; I use it on several sites.

But it CAN bog down on larger sites (5000+ hits per day) IF your server limits the amount of time a script can run. It still tracks okay, but actually processing the log file takes too long.

Having said that, I still have not found a better free stats program.

Here's the url to the AXS page:

Thanks for your efforts. I am aware of AXS script from

That is not what I need. I found a cool script at some few sites that I want to use for news services. This is the link to the site:

And this is how their news are linked

Can some smart guy tell me how they set this up?

I know they are using Fluid Dynamics Search Engine from to index their news. But I am wondering how they call the headlines into their homepage. I figured they might be using a script similar to "/cgi-bin/axs/" Now you see where I am coming from? Any ideas will highly be appreciated.

Thanks again - guys

The " /cgi-bin/axs/" is spurious indicator. The only thing it does on their main page is track which link you took to leave that page.

That is to say, they are using it to see which links on their main page are the most popular. They are NOT using it to generate that page.

Most people I've met don't mind telling you what they use to run their web site, especially if you are not running a competing site, and perhaps give credit to their site for the assistance. With that in mind, I recommend you just ask them what they use to generate the news portion of their main page.

You might need to be more specific than that. There's a lot going on on that page.
