Don't know abou asx, but you may wish to check out http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/imedia/windowsmedia/crcontent/asx.asp -- this may lead you in the right direction.

Re: Asx [In reply to] Can't Post

Assuming its not streamed from a Windows Media Server (ie, mms://), download the .asx, parse out the appropiate <REF HREF=""> tags, and download the harvested .asf's.

If it is streamed by WMS: it's still possible ( you have to download it to play after all :-), but not knowing anything about the mms protocol, I couldn't say how easy or difficult it'd be to do.

Thanks Kanji,

But The one I want are mms.

Thanks for the input.

Jasmine, Microsft will never tell me how I can take their asx steaming video off their servers. There just not the sharing type of people. Frown

Thanks,

Re: Asx [In reply to] Can't Post

You can always reverse engineer what WMP does when connecting to an mms:// url.

Throwing up some sort of daemon on port 1755 to catch input from WMP to a fake server should be a good start, although you can also browse around http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/windowsmedia/en/default.asp for more clues (SDKs, etc.).

Re: Asx [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey, That's not a bad idea.

I'm going to try that daemon thing.

I have been every where on microsofts site and I can never find ans sdk kit to make the asx files my self. I have the asf, and wma encoders. But I need one that does asx. But who cares I like quick time better anyway.

I'm still going to try the daemon thing though.

Thanks kanji,

perlkid
