Installing XML Parser Can't Post

Hi All
I have installed Active Perl 5.6 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I have installed XML-DOM Parser succesfully by running the Makefile.pl . But when i tried to Install XML-Parser by running the Makefile.pl given in that package it gave me the following error :

a) Expat must be installed prior to building XML::Parser and I can't find it in the standard library directories

b) If expat is installed, but in a non-standard directory, then use the
following options to Makefile.PL:

EXPATLIBPATH=... To set the directory in which to find libexpat

EXPATINCPATH=... To set the directory in which to find expat.h

How do i go about from here ?

Sorry, I went sleepy after that post.

I'm not sure, I would assume that you have to download it and do it the same way you tried with xml::parser. With a makefile.

Did you check that bin I told you about. We have the exact same version of perl and I have it.

Re: Installing XML Parser [In reply to] Can't Post

Expat is part of the XML::Parser family of modules. The reason you must install expat is because if you open xml::parser it requires it.

If you install Expat.pm then you should be ok. You may need the whole family of parsers in there though you'll just have to see.

Also, I installed active perl5.6 and XML:Parser came with it. I have Expat.pm and everything. If you installed perl in C:\Perl then you should be able to find it here "C:\Perl\site\lib\XML" That's where I got the information I just told to you.

Hi Slueth

I got the XML Parser Installed and it works .
This is what i did .

I ran the Perl Package Manager (PPM) at command line and from there install XML-DOM.

Thats it .
