cpan fails Can't Post

How do I manually install a perl module when cpan or cpanm fails? Sometimes cpan just won't install it or has issues getting the most recent version for me. I am a noob at Perl but learning.

The answer depends on the error message you received, i.e., the reason it failed.

Assuming that cpan is configured correctly, most install failures are due to missing dependencies or platform compatibility issues.
