Displaying a page in a textarea box Can't Post

How do you display an html file in a textarea box. I want this so I can edit it in a textarea box and then easily save it. I know how to save it but I really need to know how to display the html code in the textarea box! PLEASE help!

open (HTML, "example.html");
print "<TEXTAREA COLS=50 ROWS=50>";
print <HTML>;
print "</TEXTAREA>";

I believe that's how you do it. Sorry if I'm wrong :-)
