tiny little adressbook-database: need ya help Can't Post

well dear Linux-freaks

years ago i runned apache-Friends XAMPP on a windows machine. now i am on linux -and i do not have any xampp here.

but - yeah: now i have a full linux machine. I am able to run MySQL on my Opensuse machine.

back to the xampp: There also was a database included - a little demo database for adresses. I eagerliy look forward to get this little tiny database.

is there any way to get it - to get the data-dump of this database. Or to any apropiate little tiny adressbook-database.

look forward to hear from you

greetings
dilbert

You've got plenty of solutions, mysql, etc.

Or, you could try Berkely DBM or other DBM packages. Look for the dbmopen function on your documentation. There are various DBM packages available, but SDBM comes out of the box with any Perl install on any system.

Having said that, I would also recommend that you take a look at the tie function (even though the standard documentation on it really su*ks, but you can find much better explanations on how to use it)

I don't know about the specific database you're referring to, but mysql does have the "Sakila Sample Database".
