HTML special characters with Net::Twitter::Lite Can't Post

I try to send characters like , , , and so on to twitter. If one uses their interface one can write ü instead of . I believe that this worked with the earlier twitter API, but somehow I see now ü rather than "" in the post. Is there a parameter or something that I have to set? I am using:

use Net::Twitter::Lite::WithAPIv1_1;

Hi

Have you tried sending the literal character since it sounds like twitter or the module handles the escaping.

Thanks! I rewrote the whole code and use unicode instead of HTML now (also switched the webserver to unicode). The Encode module lets me encode the characters as unicode and now they come out nicely in twitter.

Thanks again!
