converting epoch time Can't Post

okay here's what I got. a file
BLAH BLAHBLAH MOREBLAH 971000000
BLAH BLAHBLAH MOREBLAH 971000111
I need to convert 9whatever to real time and write it back out with only epoch time altered.
what I've done is open file, split array into lines, greped array and substituted
what didn't work was array was only first line. how do i get to the second, third etc? can't substitute command ie localtime 971000000
I've learned a lot of perl but don't know anything. please help
