error?? Can't Post

I uploaded a script that works fine on my computer with apache.
when I try it on line I get this error...
"(Maybe you didn't strip carriage returns after a network transfer?)"
oh by the way it's uploaded to Tripod.
any info as to what the error may be all about would be great.

The error means the file wasn't uploaded in ascii. Reupload it in ascii.

I use "cute ftp" and select ascii. but I did try it again anyway, still the same???
