Problem with HTML form Can't Post

Hi,
My HTML form is working properly when i am opeing it from google chrome but when i am using a webserver url

Code
localhost/login.html

It does not work where as if if i use:

localhost/index.html

its showing me the index page.

I have stored it in the htdocs folder of Apache server where the index.html resides.

Kindly guide me.
