what is wrong with this?? Can't Post

Hi
I am making a perl program and i made it and it gave me an error. Well i found out that it was in this section but i dont know what is wrong with it. Can someone tell me what it is? Here it is.
print <<EndofHTML;
</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE></TD>
</TR></TD></TABLE>
</TD></TR></TABLE></TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
<TABLE WIDTH="100%" ALIGN="CENTER">
<TR>
<TD VALIGN="TOP" WIDTH="100%"><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE="2" ><CENTER><BR>

what-so-ever, without specific

and prior written authorization by Mycashworld.com </CENTER></FONT></TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
</BODY>
</HTML>
EndofHTML

1 more thing. This script i am making reads 1 txt file with lots of information in it. Is it alright if i have many scripts (about 6) to read this file? Maybe at the same time. Is that wrong, will it give me an error?

Thanks

Keith

It works for me I thought it was the print <<EndofHTML; needed to have
print <<"EndofHTML"; quotes but it's working with out them so it must be another part of the script this script Im working on is huge and has no problem with that

sub testit {

print <<EndofHTML;
</TD>
</TR>
</TABLE></TD>
</TR></TD></TABLE>
</TD></TR></TABLE></TD>
</TR>
</TABLE>
<TABLE WIDTH="100%" ALIGN="CENTER">

<TD VALIGN="TOP" WIDTH="100%"><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE="2" ><CENTER><BR>

EndofHTML
}

** note you will have to take out the <br from the end of the URL this board is not reading UBBC right! **

Re: what is wrong with this?? [In reply to] Can't Post

ok I got it working. the script you put in your page was not all of the script i copied and pasted. I guess when i copied then tried to paste something happened. I dont know what. but the good thing is that is it's working.
I have 1 question, i dont know if you can answer it or not but i will try. In a search script how do i get it to just display 20 links instead of all of them then at the bottom of the page it has a link to the next page which has more. How do i do this???

thanks

Keith

(Pats Aquilo on the back for finding that article)

I don't know how many time people have asked that and they just don't find that article.

Re: what is wrong with this?? [In reply to] Can't Post

Ok i did everything it said and it kinda of worked. Here's what is wrong. I have the number of links to be shown at 4 (this is just to test it) and i have 5 results. It prints Prev. 1 2 Next after the 4th result and then after that it prints the 5th result. What is wrong. You can see it at http://www.mycashworld.com/cgi-bin/surf.cgi Also when you click on the next link it takes you to the same page. Why?
One more thing. How do i get the script to count the results and save them into $result_count?

Thanks

Keith

P.s if you go to the web page, i know it is not a search engion, its just a page that has links on it, it was the only way i could do what i wanted. You can see the source of the script i am making at http://www.mycashworld.com/test.txt

Re: what is wrong with this?? [In reply to] Can't Post

with the "Prev. 1 2 Next after the 4th result " it is where you placed it to print I moved it and it worked
http://xtram.com/communities/test/surf.cgi

http://xtram.com/communities/test/surf.txt
sorry I changed the footer for hypermarts banner crap!:)

saveing the results into $result_count I tryed for a long time and I searched the learing center and must have over looked it someplace but I can't get the number of resultes to store in $result_count only the last value or key in the last array so im lost there too...
