Printing to local printer Can't Post

Friends,

I'm trying to print an Excel file to a local printer but it's not working, any suggestions?

copy($filename, 'USB002');

I get nothing....

Thanks in advance

Rick

I do not know how to do it, but printing an excel file is very likely to be far more complicated than that.

Take a look at these modules.

Net::Printer - Perl extension for direct-to-lpd printing.

Net::LPR - Perl extension for printing to RFC1179-compliant print servers.

Re: [FishMonger] Printing to local printer [In reply to] Can't Post

Once again thank you for the help! It didn't work for me but there are many ways to skin a cat!!! I simply wrote a service in perl that loops and looks for the badge file (Excel) in a pre-determined directory, prints it, and removes the file. That simple!!

Anyway, I finished my security badge project today and have to give a demo to some of my superiors Monday, thanks to everyones help it's going to be a success! If I can answer any questions or help out please let me know. Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Rick
