Redirect with a cookie ? Can't Post

I've written a perl script that is called after a logon form : it logs the user on (=> a cookie is created), and then redirects him/her to the requested url, with the cookie.
The problem is that I get a 404 not found Error, although the url is ok. And if I come back on the site, I am properly logged on.

Any help will be much appreciated, thanks a lot !
Kind regards

$query = new CGI;
print $query->redirect(-cookie=>$cookie,"$url");

(NB : the URL $url is absolute)
