Open existing excel file Can't Post

I want to create a link to open an existing excel file.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong in my code ?

$html.="&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"file:d:/kena/test.xlsx\" style=\"color:#FFFFFF\">Excel</a>";

Thanx

Hi,

Syntaxically, nothing is wrong with that one line of code, you need to tell us what your issue is.

My guess is that the style "color:#FFFFFF" is making the link invisible on a background of #FFFFFF, or perhaps the href to the file is invalid.

One issue I see is that you're missing some forward slashes in the link and if you use proper quoting, you won't need to escape the quotes.

$html .= q(&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="file:///d:/kena/test.xlsx" style="color:#FFFFFF">Excel</a>);

Thank you Fishmonger!
I pasted your code but it is not working either.
There's no error. It just doesn't do anything if i click it.

Can you please doublecheck the code ?

This sample works fine.
<a href="file://d:/kena/test.xlsx">excel</a>

But i do not know how to put this code in a string like:
$html.=

hope you can help me!
