Just a quick thing i notcied...

When i try and show someone a SSI tag it does not show up unless i change the <> to &gt; and &lt;

I was lucky i previewed my post before i sent it.. well i could have edited it later but for ease this would be cool if i did not have to change the code.
I think it works with HTML tags but maybe the ! mark after the < has something to do with it.

Here is an example of the code i posted...(it is changed for you to see. if i did not change it you would not see it ofcourse :)

Just put a space between the < and the !. That'll do the trick.

I just reread your question and have a follow-up.

Using & lt; is only necessary with ssi calls where the & lt; is followed by an exclamation point. You can use a regular < or > anywhere within the body of a post as long as it's not immediately followed by an exclamation point.
