how to extract images from pdf files Can't Post

Hi all,

I am currently involved in a research project in which I have to extract images out of pdf files. I know the "Pdflib TET" can do the job but its price is over $400.

Is there any other lower cost method to extract images from Pdf?

Thank you very much!

Re: [zhiyuantu] how to extract images from pdf files [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

Upon googling your posts title with perl prepended, "perl how to extract images from pdf files", the top result is a perlmonks post that covers numerous methods.

- regex based jpeg extractor.
- CAM::PDF, which comes with the utility scripts extractallimages.pl and extractjpgs.pl.
- PDF::GetImages

I like the look of extractallimages.pl, try it out and let us know how it goes. Of course there are plenty of non Perl solutions to this too.

Chris
