cpanm 501 Protocol scheme Can't Post

Hi,

I installed perlbrew, and cpanm on a server on the inside of my company's network. Then I set http_proxy to our company proxy.server.com on port 8080. Then I ran cpanm install <module> was able to install around 100 modules. Then i left for dinner, and came back to finish installing more modules and I now get the following:

Code
# cpanm install XML::SAX::Expat
! Finding install on cpanmetadb failed.
501 Protocol scheme 'proxy.server.com' is not supported

any reason why this would all of a sudden occur?

# perlbrew list-modules|wc -l
135 <- this plus dependencies were all installed with no issue, and I merely went to grab some food.

google search do not seem to express the same type of issue i'm having.

Cheers,

Re: [hpg4815] cpanm 501 Protocol scheme [In reply to] Can't Post

turns out i needed to add http:// in front of my proxy. I'm still confused on why it work previously without it, but never the less its working now.
