Does UNIX command will work on Apache which on Linux? Can't Post

If my Apache server install on Linux, Unix shell command in CGI script will work or not. For example

Code
`ln -s $rpt_d $loc`;

Thanks

It will work IF the user account that apache runs under has sufficient access rights i.e., it needs read access to the source file and write access where the link is being created.

It also needs rights to execute the ln command.
