Unparseable arguments received: \ Can't Post

I am executing the following command:

Code
module-starter --module=Convert::Distance::Imperial \
--author="Curtis 'Ovid' Poe" --email=ovid@cpan.org

However, I am receiving the following error:
Unparseable arguments received: \

Code

The error message gives as an example:

module-starter --module=Foo::Bar,Foo::Bat \
--author="Andy Lester" --email=andy@petdance.com

which seems to match what I am entering.

Have you tried executing it on a single line instead of 2 lines?

That seemed to work, thanks. I.e. my error changed, to a permissions error, which I can work on next. But it does seem to odd to me that the example in the documentation has it on two lines, but that that doesn't work for me. But maybe that's just a limitation of the terminal width.

I would need to run some tests but the error is most likely due to the shell not parsing the multi line command correctly before passing it to module-starter.

It looks like Windows does not support the \ continuation character.
