Failed test 'parsed isa DR::DateTime' [Resolved] Can't Post

I am trying to install DR-DateTime using Padre Tools, Module Tools, Install Local Distribution, but it is failing. The first error I am getting is:

Code
Failed test 'parsed isa DR::DateTime'

Before I contact the author of the program, I thought I should ask here first, as it is likely it is something that is wrong on my side, though I have installed a module or two before.

Hi Tharpa,

just a couple of questions. On which system are you installing this module? Did you try with the standard module installation tools (such as cpan or cpanm)?

It would be helpful if you posted a more complete error message.

I was able to install the module on my Ubuntu system without any errors but it failed on 2 separate Windows systems running Strawberry perl.

Code
t/020-parse.t ..... 1/71
# Failed test ''parsed' isa 'DR::DateTime''
# at t/020-parse.t line 21.
# 'parsed' isn't defined
Can't call method "epoch" on an undefined value at t/020-parse.t line 22.
# Looks like your test exited with 22 just after 3.
t/020-parse.t ..... Dubious, test returned 22 (wstat 5632, 0x1600)

I have not looked at the test script but it would appear that it's not fully compatible with Windows.

Start by looking over the test script to see what it's doing and if you can't figure it out, reach out to the author.

Windows. I just retried with the cpanm, but the same error message.

I got the same error message as you. I'm going to go with the theory that it's not fully compatible with Windows.

Thanks.

Re: [tharpa] Failed test 'parsed isa DR::DateTime' [In reply to] Can't Post

I copied the .pm files from the DateTime library to one of my INC directories and it seemed to resolve the problem.
