Know how was the program launched Can't Post

Is there a way in a perl script to know whether it was launched in command line or via some forking mechanism, such as backtick?
Thank you
ZA

What platform are you on?

Can you provide more details on why you need to do this?

It is a Solaris 10 on SPARC hardware.
However, I decided that it does not matter. The process should assume that it is a part of multi-threaded environment regardless, so it could support both multi and single threaded environments seamlessly.

Thank you
ZA
