print sub info with cli mediainfo... Can't Post

I am writing perl script with a call to mediainfo cli version to print info only about about subtitles with:

Code
system("MediaInfo --Inform=\"Text\;%ID%,%Format%,%Language%\n\" c:\\mvtmp\\$MOVIe");

but it only gives:

Usage: "mediainfo [-Options...] FileName1 [Filename2...]" "mediainfo --Help" for displaying more information

I have tried different things to make it work but nogo. I am running Windows 10 Pro with strawberry perl and CMDER. pls help if you know what must be done to get this to work thanks a bunch :)

The first thing that you should do is verify that you can run your command from the command line. The string that you pass to system should contain exactly the same characters that you type on the command line.

I suspect that the newline at the end of your options is a problem. How do you enter that on the command line? It appears that Windows parses it as the end of the command. Without it, there is no need for the double quotes around the options.
Good Luck,
Bill
