how do i have my program encrypted the password? Can't Post

I am making members area on my page, and how do i get the sign up script to print and encrypted password in the .htpasswd file?

Ok thanks

Now i just thought of this.

when the user log's on to their account how can i get the page to display their details? Their info is going to be stored into a text file, not their user name and password. I am using .htaccess and .htpasswd just in case you needed to know.

Actually isn't it $password = crypt($salt, $variable);? Also depending on what platform you are running for your server you may NOT have support for crypt and therfore you need to download a module like "Crypt::UnixCrypt" that implements the "crypt" function in pure perl.
