good programming practice Can't Post

If anyone here has had a lot of experience with perl programming... are there any rules of thumb about what to do and what not to do (even though it works) in perl?

A good place to start is the Perl Style Guide, which is in the Perl manual.

there really are no rules of thumb for programing, there are always more that 1 different ways to do something... so do it however you like, alteast, thats what I do :-)
