New Forum? Can't Post

I think a forum on how to use flash 5.0 or the newest upgrade of it would be a pretty interesting forum. Although it doesnt involve to much programming ( the really advanced things to mess around with on it) it is a big element being used on websites. LOL. even this site has flash on it. Just something to think about. :)

Always add fun to Perl
$fun = "fun"; $perl = "Perl";
print " Always add $fun to $perl"; die;

If I get a "second" to that motion, we'll add it.

But note that because it isn't Perl, and because it's not enormously likely that Perl programmers aren't Flash developers (forgive me if I'm wrong), there may not be many people who can answer the questions posed ;)

true, very true but how many perl programmers know javascript?( or maybe more do than i think) If that forum (javascript) picks up good i think it would be a good idea to pioneer into some other aspects of developing a nice website. Any second motion?? :)

Re: New Forum? [In reply to] Can't Post

I agree about the javascript comment, but (imho) javascript is more instrumental to the CGI programmer than Flash.

Flash doesn't help with input validation, site navigation, or anything else (that I'm aware of) for CGI programming. I've heard rumors that the new Flash does work with forms, but I've yet to see an example of it.

But of course, if there's demand for it, we'll add it Smile

Yeah i totally agree that javascript probably does help programmers more than flash do to the fact that programmers go for the aesthetics of the code not the pages around it. HEHE unforunately i have to do all of the above so Flash, cgi and javascript is very important for me to understand.

I heard of that new Flash that you can build in forms too. That would be a very interesting aspect to add to file uploading, log in, etc.
