Very new to cgi/perl, want to make an online game Can't Post

I just started learning how to make CGI scripts about 3 days ago.

I have been wanting to make my own online game(go to alienaa.com, magewar.com or archspace.com to see the types of games I would like to be able to make) for a while and now that I'm learning CGI scripting I'm going to be able to.

I only know really basic stuff right now(I went through the perl and CGI tutorial at http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/milhous/ if u want to see what I know) and was wondering what you guys think I should do to learn how to make a game like the 3 above.

Anyways, I wrote this up kinda fast so if it doesn't make much sense oh well...

3 days?

sorry, but if you just started out you've got along way to go. I've been programming in perl for nearly 9 months and I'm just now starting to get into making an online game. But I want to make sure it's done right, taking things nice and slow. And that is one of the keys you need in building perl scripts.

Also, I suggest you go out and buy yourself a book. I've found usually all online tutorials are crap, If you can go to a book store look for some books Perl books by O'Reilly

anyway, good luck and dont give up
