credit card statement Can't Post

I have read through numerous posts on how to automatically logon to a password-protected site so please don't think I have not tried to tackle this myself. Anyhow, here is my problem synopsis/question:

I have an account with American Express. I can download my statement after providing a username and password. After logging in, I have to go through 2 form button clicks before I can download my statements in a .QIF (Quicken File) format. So I guess my questions are: Can Perl give me the ability to do this automatically? Can this be done on a scheduled, automated basis (once per day for example)? Finally, can Perl extract the differences between newly-downloaded file as compared to the previous (day)?

I am in my first week of teaching myself Perl and I want to know if this is even possible first of all. Anyhow, scripts or help to my problem would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all!!
