perl search question Can't Post

What I want to do is create a mini-search engine. I want to maintain a list of external links, allow the user to enter a keyword phrase, and have my perl program go search the links to find the pages on which the keywords appear. I'm not new to programming, but I am relatively new to perl. What I want to know is two things: 1) is this do-able with perl? and 2) if so, where's a good place to go to learn how to do this?

Yes you can do this and the best place to start would be to check out what others have done. Try here: http://www.perlarchive.com/guide/Searching/

Thanks, I looked there last night, but I'll try it again.
